Once again, HeiTED participants were treated to high quality presentations in an excellent atmosphere.
The DMG MORI Heitec Digital and HEITEC joint in-house event was held for the second time in a quarter. The aim of the event is to foster knowledge sharing and professionalism within the company and across disciplines.
On the 30.03.2022, in addition to three speakers from the company, the audience had the opportunity to listen to Dr. László Mérő’s thoughts and put questions to him.
Crisis is a fact of life at both individual and societal levels: there have always been crises and there always will be. László Mérő presented the main psychological mechanisms of successful crisis management. He explored the “I choose to believe” strategy, resilience, a “fighter’s attitude”, leaving your comfort zone, special management of risks in times of crisis and convertible knowledge.
Our colleague Miklós Szeles gave a presentation entitled Selenideium Element Inspector, or how to write a useful Chrome plugin in 3 hours. He delivered two main messages to the audience. Find something to support your everyday work and make a Chrome plugin for it, just for fun. Find the topic that stirs your heart the most! Once you have it, write an article about it.
Bálint Kiss brought a presentation on Raycasting 3D engine in C++ to the event. He presented a retro 3D graphics engine written in C++. He talked about what inspired him and what he learned while making it, whether it was the math, optimization challenges, or how to turn C++ code into a browser game.
In his presentation, Bence Domonkos gave a brief historical overview of how the past 150 years have given birth to and shaped the machines and devices that have led to today’s keyboards. He also touched on the ideas behind them and the shortcomings of the design. We looked at what input devices (keyboards) on the market today offer in terms of hardware and software ergonomics, and what untapped potential there is.
The video of the presentations – in edited version – is available on our company’s Youtube page.
